Lionheart Tactics is a game that reminds me of the days that I would spend countless hours playing Final Fantasy Tactics! The same thing applies here as it did then! You control your main character and adventure across the land and on your adventures you gather more heroes to aid you in your quest against the forces of evil! Except Lionheart brings a few things to the table that FFT didn't! To those that have played Final Fantasy Tactics you will spot the differences! To those that haven't...well..you will still be satisfied with this game!
The game starts off with a brief story introducing us to the hero! Yes you are a king! Then quickly afterwards you are met with a monster breaking into your room and trying to off you! The game gives you a run of the basics such as movement, skill use,and attacking! After defeating the monster you get introduced to one of the many heroes that will be accompanying you on your adventures! As you progress in the game more is revealed to you!
One of these is how much of a pain an enemy healer is! But that's normal for almost any game. Another is that you can use a Gaea Break attack once it is fully charged up! This devastating attack hits hard and it might even do more but I haven't used it on my other characters! Not only that but you also start to see that your characters basic forms aren't permanent! Once you are done with the tutorial you are allowed to explore the other options of the game one of them being the hero panel that allows you to equip items to heroes, train them so they learn new skills, and even PROMOTE them to different ranks! Amazing right? You do need to collect certain items and similar to the way you would promote classes in Fire Emblem games...meaning you need to collect the appropriate stones for each individual class! You can also sacrifice units to buff up another unit! Cool huh?
Besides that you are also allowed to take part in arena player versus player content! Which is separated into different leagues! Bronze, silver, gold and maybe more are available and are unlocked the more you win fights! But be careful! Just like in PvE if your heroes get hurt in PvP you will have to wait for a certain amount of time to get them back to full health or pay a few crowns to get them ready fast! So try not to overdo it!
The cash shop in this game isn't heavily pay to win. But players who do donate a few bucks will have an edge over others but it's not something you can't overcome if you put the time into it! Gear, heroes of different qualities, and promotion stones are available for the right amount of gold or crowns! So try to save up those crowns until you get your nice hero all decked out and fully promoted! Then you can do whatever with them!
I am still barely getting into the game but so far it has been an awesome adventure that I will probably regret taking part of at work and school! But that's life right?
